Love is never simple. And if you’ve seen De De Pyaar De, you know Ajay Devgn’s Ashish already has a degree in complicated romances. Well, guess what? He’s back in De De Pyaar De 2, and this time the battlefield isn’t just his love life, it’s his girlfriend’s family home!
The brand-new trailer, which just dropped, shows Ashish (Ajay Devgn) landing straight into the lion’s den, aka Ayesha’s (Rakul Preet Singh) family. And it’s not the “bring sweets, meet parents, say namaste” kind of introduction. Nope. This one comes with high stakes, awkward silences, and some laugh-out-loud family politics.
Directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar along with Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film promises exactly what the first part delivered, heart, humour and just the right amount of chaos.
This time around, the parents (played by Gautami Kapoor and R. Madhavan) aren’t easily convinced. Instead of welcoming Ashish, they throw a twist into the mix: another suitor for their daughter, one who’s younger, “age-appropriate,” and undeniably charming, played by Meezaan Jafri. Cue fireworks, jealousy, and Ashish trying every possible trick to prove he’s the right man for Ayesha.
The trailer is full of relatable moments, from parents grilling the boyfriend to the generational clashes. Add Ajay Devgn’s deadpan humour, Rakul’s charm, Meezaan’s charisma and the whole ‘pyaar vs parivaar’ theme, and you have the recipe for a perfect family entertainer.
