Aamir Khan And R Madhavan Deny 3 Idiots Sequel!
All is not well for fans dreaming of a 3 Idiots sequel. For weeks now, the internet has been buzzing with rumours that the iconic trio was gearing up for a reunion.
Aamir Khan And R Madhavan Deny 3 Idiots Sequel!
The chatter claimed that Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi were all set to return, with the story jumping ahead nearly 15 years after the film’s beloved ending. Nostalgia went into overdrive. But now, the actors have finally spoken and they are shutting the rumours down.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, both Aamir Khan and R Madhavan have clearly stated that they were never approached for any sequel.

Aamir, whose Rancho remains one of Bollywood’s most loved characters, sounded amused and honest while addressing the speculation.
Aamir said, “We had so much fun making that film! My character Rancho is the most popular character I’ve played. People still talk about Rancho. So yeah, I’d love to do a sequel. But no one has approached me.” Safe to say, the enthusiasm is there, but the script is not.

R Madhavan, meanwhile, kept it refreshingly real and a little savage. Reflecting on the idea of revisiting the film, he said, “A sequel to 3 Idiots sounds great. But it also sounds far-fetched. All three of us Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and I are much older now. Where do we go in the sequel? What are our lives like now? It is an interesting thought. But hardly conducive to a proper sequel. I would love to work with Raju Hirani again. But 3 Idiots again? I think that would be idiotic.”
Ouch. But also fair.
Released in 2009, 3 Idiots wasn’t just a blockbuster. It became a cultural moment that still resonates with students, parents and professionals alike. Maybe that is exactly why the cast feels it is best left untouched.
So for now, fans can rewatch, re-quote and relive the magic. Rancho, Farhan and Raju may not be coming back anytime soon. And honestly, some classics are perfect just the way they are.
