Kartik Aaryan Takes A 15-Crore Pay Cut Amidst Rumours Of Fallout with Karan Johar
Bollywood loves a fallout story, and this week, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar found themselves right at the centre of one. After Kartik and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri underperformed at the box office, speculation around strained equations began doing the rounds.
Kartik Aaryan Takes A 15-Crore Pay Cut Amidst Rumours Of Fallout with Karan Johar
The romantic drama, backed by Dharma Productions, struggled to gain momentum and currently stands at ₹47.05 crore, failing to cross the ₹50 crore mark. This was especially disappointing for a film reportedly made on a ₹90 crore budget. Adding fuel to the chatter was the buzz that Kartik had charged a hefty ₹50 crore fee for the project.

Soon after, industry whispers claimed that Kartik-Karan Johar had a fallout, with the former parting ways with Dharma’s talent arm, Dharma Collab Artists Agency. However, a Bollywood Hungama report has now put those rumours to rest.
According to the report, there is no fallout at all. In fact, Kartik reportedly extended support to the producers by voluntarily waiving off ₹15 crore from his fee. The gesture has been widely appreciated within the industry.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Kartik has done this. Following the underperformance of Shehzada, Kartik had similarly reduced his fee to stand by the film’s makers. Say what you will, but it does reflect a certain sense of professionalism.

The report also confirms that Kartik and Karan Johar continue to share a healthy working relationship. Kartik is currently working on Naagzilla, a creature comedy co-produced by Dharma and Mahaveer Jain Films, and the project is moving ahead smoothly.
What’s more, sources reveal that Kartik and Karan are already in talks for a third collaboration. So no cold wars here. Just Bollywood being Bollywood, and Kartik quietly focusing on the work.
