Produced by Anushka Sharma – ‘Bulbbul’ to release on 24 June on Netflix!

After the amazing success of her web series Paatal Lok on Amazon Prime Video, Anushka Sharma has one more OTT offering in the pipeline! Her production company, Clean Slate Films, is all set to release the spooky Netflix original film ‘Bulbbul’. Starring Avinash Tiwary, Tripti Dimri and Rahul Bose in the lead roles, Bulbbul will be out on June 24!

Describing Bulbbul as a ‘fantastic tale about self-discovery, and justice, wrapped in lore, mystery and intrigue’, Anushka took to Instagram to unveil the first look of her upcoming film with a motion poster.

The sight of a woman prancing on the trees with creepy backward feet, left the viewers with some major heebie jeebies! According to popular folk lore, ‘chudails’ are supposed to have inverted feet. 

Set in Kolkata, Bulbbul is a supernatural period drama revolving around age old superstitions and beliefs. 

It will revolve around ‘Satya’ who returns from England after many years to find out his brother’s ‘child bride’ has been abandoned. His village has been plagued with stories of mysterious deaths and haunted by a woman living in trees. The story is essentially about a man trying to save the village from a witch!
