Sushant Singh Rajput's death: Mumbai Police records statements of ...

The talented 34 year old actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide from hanging in his Bandra Home on 14 June 2020. However, no suicide note was recovered. Reportedly, he was suffering from clinical depression for the past 6 months. His post-mortem report confirmed the cause of death as asphyxiation due to hanging.

Currently investigating the case to ascertain what led to his depression and subsequent suicide, the Mumbai Police have been recording statements from close family members and friends.

The late actor’s creative content manager, Siddharth Pithani, has revealed to the police in his statement that in the weeks leading to his eventual death, Sushant had stopped taking the pills treating his depression as he was “feeling better”!

Though Pithani knew Sushant was taking medication for depression, the reason behind his depression was unknown to him.

“Pithani told us that he was not aware of the reason why Rajput was depressed. As he had been staying at Rajput’s home, he had, however, overheard the actor’s staff saying that he had stopped taking the medicines in the past few weeks as he was feeling better,” said a senior Mumbai Police officer, as per The Indian Express report.

According to an India Today report, Pithani had also revealed in his statement that between October 2019 and January 2020, he was not working with Sushant. Sushant was under depression and had asked Pithani to leave in October 2019. However, Pithani and his team were later called back in January!
