Brand endorsements help celebrities mint a lot of money while also building their brand identity. Inspite of the social responsibilities, many Bollywood Stars are happy to be the face of fairness creams. But the talented late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput was firm on his stand against such commercials!
Revealed in a Mid-day report, the Kedarnath actor had reportedly turned down a fairness cream endorsement deal worth Rs 15 crores!
The three-year-long deal apparently had six commercials that would follow the trope of a fairness cream helping an underdog elevate his social standing.
Inspite of it being a lucrative offer, Sushant had immediately refused as he didn’t believe in endorsing fairness cream products. He felt that he needed to be responsible about the kind of products he lent his face to.
Sushant had opined that as responsible actors, it is their duty to not send out incorrect messages. “We should not, in any way, endorse or promote the ideology of preferring one skin tone over another.”
