Music fans, rejoice!
Renowned director and music composer, Vishal Bhardwaj of Omkara, Haider and Maqbool fame has launched his very own ‘VB Music Label’ on Thursday, 2 July 2020. This move has been prompted by his desire to bring forward music without having to confine it within the restriction of movies.
Explaining why he chose to introduce his own music label, Vishal Bhardwaj admitted that he had become a film director to keep his inner music composer alive. However, the director-composer had always wondered how to present tunes without fitting them into films; since they carried constraints in terms of situations and characters.
Adding that he wanted to share these tunes that transcended fame, money, and respect with the people, the Haider composer further announced that he will try releasing a new song every month under the label!
His singer-wife Rekha Bhardwaj also took to Twitter to share – “Long cherished dream of having our own music label has finally come to fruition.”
Now, Gulzar ji’s contribution towards shaping the Indian music industry has been legendary! And Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar saab have been known to weave magic whenever they have come together to join their creative forces. You’ll be excited to know that the first song under the VB Music label – ‘Dhoop Aane Do’ will also be a mesmerizing collaboration between the iconic Bhardwaj-Gulzar trio.
Here’s a sneak peek at the enchanting piece that will have soulful lyrics penned by the incomparable veteran lyricist, Gulzar ji and vocals crooned by Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj.
