Rekha Bhardwaj is the wife of filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and has made her own independent identity in the Bollywood by singing some evergreen songs like Ranjha ranjha, Ghaghra, Namak ishq ka and many more. “Ishqa Ishqa” was a well-known album released by Gulzaar Saab and Rekha Ji adding her melancholic voice to it. While Rekha Ji was becoming what she is today, she had the privilege to have Gulzaar Saab as her mentor. Gulzar Ji always offered to write for Rekha Ji’s albums.
Once Rekha Ji said in an interview that “Since Gulzar Saab is our mentor, his rhythm of life has also rubbed on us. Listening to him and sharing our thoughts with him, has cleansed our minds and souls in myriad ways“.
We have all witnessed the magic that these three iconic artists have created for us and we always want more of it from them because they make us feel magical with their words and tunes. Some of their best works are “Pataakha“, “Maachis” and many more. This duo frequently collaborates with Gulzaar Saab and calls him “father”.
