The new upcoming MX Player original series ‘Aashram’ marks Bobby Deol’s OTT debut and is directed as well as produced by ‘Raajneeti’ director Prakash Jha.
The trailer of the series was released yesterday and it shows Bobby Deol in a very different light (in the form of a spiritual leader) as compared to his prior characters.
The setting of the series is in that of a fictional city named Kashipur. Deol plays the character of a Godman Baba called Nirala who is prayed to and worshipped by many devotees but later on is accused of murder and caging girls in his ‘Aashram’. After the skeleton of one of his female devotees is found in a land plot adjacent to the Baba’s Aashram, it erupts a lot of chaos and that interferes with the upcoming state elections.
The series stars Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka, Adhyayan Summan, Tridha Choudhury, Vikram Kochhar, Tushar Pandey, Sachin Shroff, Anuritta Jha, Rajeev Siddhartha, Parinitaa Seth, Tanmaay Ranjan, Preeti Sood, Jahangir Khan, Kanupriya Gupta and Navdeep Tomar.
‘Aashram’ is set to be released on the 28th of August on MX Player where it can be streamed.
