Sushant Wanted To Sell His Maserati And Buy An Innova; Was Financially Troubled

In an exclusive by India Today, certain audio tapes were accessed wherein it could be heard that Sushant was financially worried.

The conversations had taken place between Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty, his wealth managers as well as his private managers and this was confirmed by a forensic examiner. The examiner has also confirmed that no tampering has been doing to the recordings.

Saving money, Worst case scenario

The first recording has a conversation that takes place between Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput and an unrecognised man.

Sushant can be heard saying, “At this point of time, I just want to ask for a favour.” Rhea responds with a “yes” and Sushant goes on to ask, “How can we save all the money?”

This is when the man interrupts and says, “We talked about our worst-case scenario yesterday.”

In what can be interpreted as a reference to his mental illness, Sushant responds, “Yeah! Here, I am fighting with my mind. So, this is probably the worst case I will ever see.”

The man’s voice advises that a private trust can be set up to ensure that the individual, Sushant in this case, can be taken care of. “All decisions are with the pool of people who are trustees,” the voice adds.

Rhea concurs and Sushant asks, “How do we go about it?” However, Rhea then asks, “Isn’t that a little extreme?” to which the male voice responds, “This is the worst-case scenario, right?”

Rhea says yes and Sushant also replies with, “I think, yes.”

The man’s voice can then be heard saying, “Sushant had this insistence yesterday” to which Sushant responds by saying, “Trust me.”

Desire to Move Away from Mumbai

This conversation takes place between Sushant, Rhea, Rhea’s father Indrajit Chakraborty and her former manager Shruti Modi.

Sushant: And I hope to move from city too

Woman: Us moreover

Sushant: Either their place or

Rhea: Or there is a thought that Goa maybe. Dad suggested that be in Pawna for some time. See that then first. See Goa. Give it like a month or two before we finally decide that but overall, he wants to feel safeguarded. He is thinking of the future. He is worried about the future and he wants that kinda safeguard that you know

Sushant: I am saying let’s treat it like a retirement thing.

Someone: I understand.

Sushant: So how will I do it? So how will I do it? I just want help.

Rhea: The first goal of this money, like whatever money he has invested in a way that he has, gets some returns.

Sushant: So that I know that this is the amount that

Rhea: This is the amount that he is getting every month to put so that he plans accordingly to give up this house.

Sushant: I don’t mind going to a grim secluded place like Pawna.

Woman: You were not happy whenever you’d come to apartment..what is going on? (Unclear)

Sushant: So, it’s just that just..whatever is going to give you peace of mind.

Rhea: So the attempt is now, we are going to Pawna in one or two days and set him up there and see how he feels in a couple of days.

Woman: When are you going to Pawna?

Sushant: As soon as I get an idea about.

Man’s voice: Park this for Wednesday or Thursday 14th would be an off kind of thing Sankrant thing..

Man’s voice: When is it?

Sushant: Before my birthday, for sure.

Man’s voice: I am okay. Wednesday is?

Rhea: Wednesday, around 7.

Man’s voice: This can be devised.

Was Sushant Depressed?

Sushant: I am just saying that we have seen cases where it has always been a part of the lifestyle.

Woman’s voice: Hmmm

Sushant: This bipolar disorder. In that state, firstly, I don’t think acting is something I will be able to do. Second, I don’t know which economic structure I can get into. So, in some ways, I am in 50-50 mind. It’s not like I can be confident about coming back.

Woman’s voice: You are deciding all this for yourself. Won’t I get to decide?

Sushant: I have been discussing this with my doctors for the last two months.

Woman’s voice: Okay, tell me what the end goal is? Let’s decide the end goals and we will work backwards. Tell me what your worst fear is.

Rhea: So, I will tell you. I definitely want it in a way that for example, if tomorrow, me, Shruti or Miranda are not there and there are these new people who are just there. If someone gets his card, so firstly, I told him that start putting everything in fixed deposits where all his money is. So that in his debit card, there is never more than 10-15 lakhs at any given time. Second, that money that he has, we can get interest from the fixed deposits so that he doesn’t start eating into his savings. We want to safeguard his money in a way that without his signature, nothing is possible like breaking an FD.

Was Rhea Trying To Secure Sushant’s Future?

In this conversation, Rhea is heard talking to fund managers about managing Sushant’s funds as she apparently must have been trying ti secure his future.

Rhea: Right now, he has his money open. Few FDs and some are in mutual funds and some are still open.

Man: It was badly managed.

Rhea: Just that we have to manage it well. I know, but for someone like me, who, when I know, all I can suggest that we can immediately FD it.

Rhea: Rather than be in a card. I don’t know who will have the card.

Man: We have plans to shift from Kotak Privy to Kotak Wealth. They will manage the assets like an AMC does or an advisor.

Woman: They will take commission.

Man: Everybody does. It’s only a question who takes less. People are there who charge a lakh a year and are happy.

Woman: You shouldn’t give everything in one person’s hand. You must diversify as much as you can.

Rhea: Anyone I am saying the cards should never have more than Rs 10 lakh.

Man: No, she is talking about swipe.

Rhea: Oh, there is a limit.

Woman: So, we have two cards here. The larger one is in his thathas Rs 5 lakh limit. The smaller one has Rs 50,000 limit.

Woman: So we have two cards here. The larger one is his that..

Rhea: You can give him an idea of how much money he can get every month from returns

Man’s voice: Ballpark, I gave you a number of Rs 5 lakhs a month.

Woman’s voice: We will be able to get that.

Man’s voice: Yaa

Woman’s voice: Which is okay

Man’s voice: That’s a ballpark number beyond that would be difficult

Sushant: On an invest of? What will be the return?

Man’s voice: We are taking just not even 9-12 per cent per annum.

Sushant: Okay

Man’s voice: And after taxes, we will be left with Rs 5 lakh per month. We could have higher rate of return. But the risk also increases.

Sushant: What I was asking is

Woman’s voice: No, because if that policy is mature, then we will get that money.

Rhea: No, insurance policy.

Woman’s voice: We have got him a life insurance that is maturing.

Rhea: There is no life insurance.

Woman’s voice: He has health insurance?

Sushant: I can let go off these fancy cars that I have got.

Rhea: Yaa, he can sell the Maserati.

Woman’s voice: Hold on. Hold on.

Woman’s voice: You don’t have to make such extreme decisions. If there is enough of a corpus, we’ll make it work. And find you the money you need every month. What is a good income? What is a good number for you? Is it 8-10 lakhs or is it just 7 lakhs? Tell us. We will work back. But don’t start disposing off assets. You still have a

Rhea: Ya, I am telling him like 1-2 months later, if you all are very certain

Woman’s voice: Take my advice. You are not in a..to dispose of assets. As much as I like you, I will tell you the truth. Even if it’s going to pinch, certainly don’t go and buy new cars.

Rhea: Give me black coffee.

Sushant: We have to stop spending as soon as possible.

Woman’s voice: Give me the cards. Then you won’t spend.

Rhea: There are no other expenses except the house functioning and the staff costs, which I told him, for 1-2 months, let it be as it is till you guys come up with a plan. And till he is certain that it is not a phase and this is how he feels now. And it’s not functional at all. We will give that 1-2 months. And them, we can start disposing off assets and reducing stuff. Give it 1-2 months more and see the life in Pawna and then decide.

Sushant Wanted to Sell His Maserati and Get an Innova

Man: Selling cars etc shouldn’t even think. Loss making decision.

Sushant: Well, I am not going to use them now.

Man: Well, you will need one car.

Sushant: Well, if I didn’t have one I won’t buy one.

Rhea: You can sell this and buy an Innova.

Sushant: You don’t relate it to bad days.

Woman: Why sell a maserati and buy Innova? Just relax.

Sushant: This is not that the fascination of buying those things lived well.

Man: On Wednesday, when we meet, we discuss these companies and trust

Rhea: Wednesday or Thursday, whichever day is convenient, we will discuss.

What Made Sushant So Anxious?

Sushant: But I hardly go out of my room.

Voice 1 (woman): Yaa

Voice 2 (woman): No, I am sure he will be able to work something.

Voice 3 (man): But yaa, it’s a long life. Working again has to be a goal post that you have to achieve.

Sushant: Yaa, that’s what I am saying. I’ll have my intellectual curiosity to take care of her.

Voice 3 (man): Yaa

Sushant: But not in terms of economic commitment.

Voice 3 (man): Right

Sushant: Because this kind of frame of mind, like one day I feel something, and second day, I feel something else about work. So, I can’t be wasting others time at all.

Voice 3 (man): Right

Sushant: Hai na? So, like that if we could plan once then.

Voice 1 (woman 1): Leave sugar something.

Sushant: Haan?

Voice 1 (woman 1): Leave sugar something. Can’t understand. We will tell you plus give us duties.

Voice 2 (woman 2): We are the best people.

Sushant: Heh!

Voice 3 (man): Saviours!

Voice 2 (woman 2): Saviours!

Sushant: Hehehe
