Ishaan Khatter-Ananya Panday starrer ‘Khaali Peeli’ has been receiving backlash from the netizens for the song ‘Beyonce Sharma Jayegi’ regarding the ‘racist undertones’.
Plus, since the pop icon Beyonce has trademarked her name, the makers realised it could lead to legal trouble. So they have now tweaked the lyrics.
They have now completely changed the line from ‘tujhe dekh ke goriya Beyonce sharma jayegi’ to ‘tera dekh ke nakhra yeh duniya sharma jayegi.’
However, the track in the music video is still the same. They’ve changed the name from ‘Beyonce’ to ‘Beyonse’.
This move too has invited ridicule from the Twitterati!
Directed by Maqbool Khan, Khaali Peeli is slated to release on October 2, on the pay-per-view platform Zee Plex.
