Alia Bhatt has resumed the shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi and this was one of the first films to resume shooting after the lockdown.
According to Koimoi, Padmaavat actor, Jim Sarbh has joined the cast of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Jim Sarbh played the role of Malik Kafur in Padmaavat and will be playing a very important role in the movie, Gangubai Kathiawadi. Jim Sarbh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali had got along while shooting for Padmaavat. A source says “Jim plays a journalist in the film and has already shot for some of his portions. He will soon start shooting for his remaining part as well.”
Besides Alia Bhatt & Jim Sarbh, Gangubai Kathiawadi also features actor Vijay Raaz. It is also rumored that the Kasautii Zindagii Kay actor Parth Samthaan plays Ramnik Lal, the love interest of Gangubai in the film. However, no one has officially confirmed this news as yet.
Alia Bhatt was recently shooting for the movie in Masina Hospital, Mumbai, and has now gone back to Filmcity. “The shoot is expected to go on till January. The makers have taken all the necessary steps for everyone’s safety on the set,” adds the source.
The film was to be released on 11th September 2020 but it was delayed due to the pandemic and a new release date is yet to be announced.
