Javed Akhtar had filed a criminal complaint against Kangana Ranaut before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate the last month for allegedly defaming him.
Yesterday, Akhtar recorded his statement via his lawyer before a metropolitan court in Mumbai for verification of the complaint.
Reportedly, Kangana had taken Javed’s name while speaking of a ‘coterie’ present in Bollywood. Ranaut apparently also claimed that Javed Akhtar had threatened her to not speak about her alleged relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan.
Post Akhtar’s statement being recorded, Kangana reacted to the same with a tweet. She wrote, “Single woman/lone warrior fighting against Bullywood suicide gang, drug mafia, fascist government, tukde gang all at once, I may have chosen a difficult life but it’s an honour to awaken my nation to all the threats we face against our unity and integrity.”
As per TOI, the case’s next hearing will be on the 19th of December.
