After the success of ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, ‘Adipurush’ marks Saif Ali Khan’s second collaboration with the director Om Raut.
Saif is playing the character of ‘Lankesh’ (Ravan) in this mythological drama.
During an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, Saif talked about his role in ‘Adipurush’. He said that that his model of the demon king Ravan can be extra ‘humane’. Making the evil character humane and entertaining, the team will try justifying his war with Ram to avenge what Lakshman did to his sister.
“It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off his nose,” the actor stated.
Taling about Om Raut, Saif revealed, “I admire him as a director. We boost each other towards creating something exciting.”
Apart from Saif, Prabhas will portray the role of ‘Lord Ram’ while Kriti Sanon will be essaying the character of ‘Sita’.
The release date of the 3D mythological drama has been announced and it will hit the screens on August 11, 2022.
