Gangubai Kathiawadi In LEGAL TROUBLE; Family Files Case Against Sanjay Leela Bhansali & Alia Bhatt!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his signature period dramas. But along with the opulence, his films have also been known to attract controversies!

And looks like his next – the Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has landed itself in legal trouble.

As per the latest report in Bollywood Life, the family members of Gangubai Kathiawadi have reportedly filed a case in Bombay Civil Court against both Bhansali and Alia Bhatt. They have raised an objection to the film’s story.

Moreover, the portal further added that even Hussain Zaidi (author of ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ on which the film is based) has also filed a case against the filmmaker and actress! Official confirmation of these reports is awaited though.

Alia Bhatt will be seen in the titular role as the mafia queen and brothel owner in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Recently, it was reported that Huma Qureshi had joined the cast.

A KoiMoi report stated – “Huma will appear in a Qawwali dance sequence and has been preparing for her scenes for a while now. An interesting set has been erected for this sequence. Huma and Sanjay are quite excited about this special number.”
