Ranveer Singh was off to a hit start in his pretty awesome Bollywood career and eventually made it HUGE, staying at the top now.
Did you know the actor almost debuted in an Akshay Kumar movie?
We’ve all seen Ranveer and Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baarat which was released in 2010 but before getting launched by YRF, Ranveer was offered a small side role in Akshay Kumar-Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Patiala House’. Had Singh taken up that offer, he might have had a small debut as a supporting character instead of lead in Band Baaja.
Singh spoke about it was a ‘far fetched’ dream to play a lead hero in a Bollywood film for him at that time. However, Singh was later offered a small role to play in Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma starrer Patiala House, which he rejected.
Chatting with Hindustan Times, Ranveer Singh mentioned, “I was 21 when I started trying my luck and at 24, it worked out for me in a spectacular fashion. I feel those tales are surely memoir-worthy (laughs). I almost debuted in a small role in Patiala House, and nearly did some small budget films that Anurag sir was directly/indirectly affiliated with. Today, both, Nikkhil sir and Anurag sir are probably as astounded as I am about how things started [for me] and how they have worked out.”
Ranveer will next star in Kabir Khan’s directorial 83′ along with his wife Deepika Padukone.
