Shweta Tripathi Sharma is busy shooting for projects one after the other. After completing the shoot for a tech thriller, she is shooting for a Netflix show, ‘Naina‘.
Peepingmoon.com has learned that her latest web venture is a political romantic drama series set in the heartlands of Uttar Pradesh.
The Netflix series will see Shweta playing the titular role of a strong-willed girl named Naina. A source says “The makers were looking for an actress who looks like a homey girl and also has a definite arc to showcase the soft and other sides of politics, and found Shweta perfect for the role. She is shooting for this riveting drama as we speak.”
‘Naina‘ will see Shweta romancing Mardaani villain Tahir Raj Bhasin. Kumud Mishra, Sapna Pabbi, and Vijay Tilani also play pivotal roles. Filmmaker Siddharth Sengupta— known for Balika Vadhu, Rangrasiya, and Alt Balaji series Apharan— is directing and producing this show under his banner, Edgestorm Productions. Sengupta is directing it along with Rohit Jugraj who has previously helmed Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon starrer Arjun Patiala.
On the other hand, Shweta seems to have a busy 2021 with five projects in hand including the second season of The Gone Game and the third season of Amazon Prime’s Mirzapur.
