Last year, the Bollywood lost a gem on April 30 and mourned as Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67.
Before succumbing to his battle with cancer, the legendary veteran actor had been shooting for a film called ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’.
“It is a coming-of-age story of a 60-year-old man. It is about a middle-class man who wants to discover life after retirement. This film was meant for him, he is the DNA of the film,” – filmmaker Honey Trehan had told the PTI.
Rishi ji’s loss is naturally irreplaceable. The makers were initially going to use advanced VFX technology to complete the pending portions of the film. However, there appears to be a change of plans now.
Paresh Rawal will now be stepping in for Rishi Kapoor’s role to complete the remaining portions. Sharmaji Namkeen will also be featuring Juhi Chawla prominently.
As a tribute to the late actor, the makers are planning on releasing the film on his birth anniversary – 4th September 2021!
