Varun Dhawan was supposed to reunite with his Badrinath Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan for a comic thriller.
Titled ‘Mr Lele’, the makers had even released a goofy yet risque first look poster of Varun from the project, just before the pandemic hit.
Mr Lele was reportedly also going to feature Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor as well. However, as the lockdown started and the pandemic hit the country in full force, the project was put on the back burner and reports went rife that Mr Lele was shelved!
As per latest news from Bollywood Hungama, Varun is supposedly not going to star in this project! Shashank has revived the film but roped in Vicky Kaushal as the male lead. If the reports are true, then this will be Kaushal’s 3rd film with Dharma Productions after Raazi and Bhoot. It remains to be seen if the other cast members stay the same.
On the other hand, Shashank also had the Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Yoddha’, but the Kabir Singh actor had walked out of the project. And hence, Shashank has decided to go ahead with Mr Lele first. Kickstarting the schedule in March, the team is hoping to wrap it up in a month’s time.
