But did you know that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh weren’t the 1st choice for ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, which kickstarted their romance?
No, Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan were reportedly the original pairing for Ram Leela. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed how he was shocked when Kareena stormed out of the film.
“The set was made already, and it was shocking – her exit 10 days before shooting.”
Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Kareena had revealed her reason behind walking out of the film.
“I confess that I’m mad. There have been times when I’ve signed a film and then felt it was wrong. Yes, I was supposed to do Ram-Leela but I changed my mind. I decided to do Gori Tere Pyaar Mein instead.”
She claimed to be the only actress who could ‘boast of giving films to other actresses’.
“With me, it’s all about the mood. There are no regrets, I’ve worked with some really good directors. I’ve missed the chance to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But there’s always the next time. I’m the only actress who can boast of giving films to other actresses.”
All’s well that ends well… Deepika landed the role and Ranveer as her husband later, so we ain’t complaining!
On the personal front, Kareena is expecting her 2nd child with Saif Ali Khan any day now.
