Producer Dinesh Vijjan is cleverly expanding his horror-comedy universe.
Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer ‘Roohi’ will be soon hitting the theatres on 11th March.
This franchise started off with Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Stree’, now followed by Roohi. The 3rd movie ‘Bhediya’ with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon (reportedly revolving around a werewolf) was also announced recently.
The makers have also locked the 4th installment in the franchise – Stree Prequel ‘Munjha’ which will be all about the girl who came in Stree and the complications she brought along. As per a Peeping Moon report, Dil Bechara actress Sanjana Sanghi has reportedly come onboard as the female lead for the prequel!
“Munjha will be the fourth and last standalone film in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. The basic idea is to establish the lead characters with at least two parts of each film before they start crossing paths in each other’s story, similar to what Rohit Shetty is doing with his cop universe. Although a prequel to Stree, Munjha will have its own distinct identity and complexities,” a source told the portal.
Munjha is written and directed by Yogesh Chandekar, and will be kickstarting shooting from September this year. Apparently, Munjha was offered to Alia Bhatt first but she declined reportedly because she didn’t want to be a part of a multi-heroine film franchise, the Peeping Moon report states.
