3) Adah Sharma & Creepy Portrait
Adah Sharma may have scared us shitless in 1920, but she too had quite the supernatural experience while shooting for the film in Allerton Castle, in Yorkshire. The castle had a portrait that RESEMBLED her.
Recalling the incident, she told TOI – “The caretakers told us stories about how the wife of the housekeeper, who had died, haunts the castle. When we reached there, we saw this huge portrait of her that’s hung on the wall, and the way the woman resembled me, it was uncanny. It was so unreal and crazy that I was really spooked out.”
A Masala report also has something strange to add – “The photographer asked me to get a still photo taken standing in front of the painting. The caretaker said that any pictures taken in front of the painting don’t get developed. But we went ahead and took a few pictures. But when we transferred the pictures to a laptop, they all came blurred or blank! That was quite spooky!”
