Charismatic, energetic and fun-loving… Ranveer Singh is one helluva powerhouse performer in Bollywood.
The Superstar debuted in the film industry with the dhamaakedaar 2010 ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and there’s been no looking back ever since!
Now, we all know his acting prowess but did you know he has some mad copy-writing skills too? Yes, that’s right! Before venturing into acting, Ranveer Singh had a brief stint as a copywriter in Mumbai!
The Padmaavat actor had interned at renowned ad agencies like Ogilvy and JWT Mumbai. We all saw his lit beat in Gully Boy and apparently his talent as a rapper must have peeked out even while interning – coz he was popularly labelled as the ‘RHYME DOCTOR’!
Talking about his copywriting days, Ranveer had said, “I used to write raps even back then and they used to call me the rhyme specialist. They used to say if you have a line and you need a rhyme for it, just go to this guy. He is like a rhyme doctor, he can rhyme anything with anything.”
He had written a radio jingle for Good Knight, and also worked on Ponds.
“I used to sell more ads as an intern than my seniors who were writing cerebral ads. So, clearly, I had a future as a low brow output kind of copywriter,” he added.
If not acting, Ranveer Singh would surely have excelled as a copy-writer! But everything happens for a reason and we’re glad he ditched the advertising world for the Tinsel Town.
On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in an exciting double role for Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus movie.
