MJ5 is a five-member group of passionate and enthusiastic professional dancers who gained their fame and recognition after winning India’s Dancing Superstar in 2013.
The Quintet is composed of – Kartik, Rohit, Himanshu, Vishnu, and Dennis.
MJ5 has now ventured into making music as well and the group has already come out with their very first track and music video which premiered on the 12th of March, 2012. The video, titled ‘BAWAAL’ has already crossed over 3 Million views! Their track is composed by Dixant Shaurya and Nitish R Kumar in association with One Digital Entertainment.
The Inspiration and vision of the track are very simple yet subtle. It emphasizes the wishes of people to fulfil their dreams along with valuing all the little things that provide us with love and comfort. It inspires people to have fun and be happy. The freedom of travelling and meeting new people was restricted by Corona. The feeling of spending your precious time with your favourite people at a beautiful place with no restrictions and bounds. The feeling of letting go of your heart and falling for someone like it was destiny to meet them!
The team says, “The Concept of the video was to incorporate our dance and music in the things we naturally do while enjoying the place and its beauty. Kihaa Resort in the Maldives felt like a paradise on Earth. The place gave us so much positivity and rejuvenated us. The tranquillity and peace in the Kihaa environment brought so many ideas that we could add to our video. The highlight is to basically have fun and enjoy. Spreading happiness around just by being yourself.”
As per a report, the founder of MJ5 – Kartik says, “While our dance work has been largely influenced by international artists like Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown and Usher. We have also been very fond of BTS and the cult legacy they have carved for themselves as a boy band in the millennial age. As creative artists, we never wanted to restrict ourselves to just dance and wanted to explore other avenues within the creative gamut.”
He continues, “Our vision is to be one of the best millennial powerhouse boy band sensations and India’s answer to BTS & K-Pop music. Our debut track is an ode to all the heroes out there who emerged like warriors from a tumultuous 2020 and dived into 2021 with gratitude and optimism, looking towards a promising future devoid of restrictions and dismay. That darkness is behind you, and only happiness is ahead.“
