As per a report, Ajay Devgn was originally roped in to play the role of Karan (Salman Khan). Ajay had declined the role due to creative differences with Rakesh Roshan.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released in 1998 and it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. Ajay had the opportunity to work with Kajol (his real wife) in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the 90s but the actor had walked out of the movie due to unknown reasons.
