Since its announcement, Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & Lakshya starrer Dostana 2 has been making waves.
This Colin D’Cunha directorial is being produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions.
Sequel to 2007’s hit comedy flick Dostana, which starred Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra & John Abraham, Dostana 2 went on floors in Amritsar in November 2019 but was halted in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown.
As per reports, the movie shoot was reportedly supposed to resume after the unlock period, but, apparently, there hasn’t been any progress yet.
Well, according to a SpotboyE report, the team is reportedly facing some scripting issues, which is why there’s this delay.
“A portion of ‘Dostana 2’ was set abroad, however, due to the current pandemic, there are several regulations on international schedules of the shoot. And the makers are preferring not to put anyone’s safety at risk and move back that abroad schedule to India. Therefore, the shoot had been put on hold to make changes in the script to suit the Indian setting.”
As per the report, the changes haven’t supposedly been well received by the makers. “With the changes in the script, the makers are not very happy with the course of the narrative and hence the shoot has been getting delayed, waiting for the desirable screenplay that supports the concept. Dostana had set a bar for its sequel and the makers don’t want to bring that down,” the sources added.
