Vijay Raaz Molestation Case; WHAT Is The Verdict?

While shooting for Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie ‘Sherni’, her co-star Vijay Raaz got entangled in a sexual harassment case.

The Gully Boy actor had been accused of allegedly molesting a female crew member. The production company had also set up an internal committee to review the case.

Vijay Raaz was accused of allegedly molesting a female crew member

As per India Today report, the female crew member in question was an assistant director. She had registered an FIR against Vijay Raaz at Ramnagar police station of Gondia.

Vijay had further sought to quash this FIR. In his petition, he had alleged that he had not committed any offence and that the FIR was based on the women’s “imagination with ill intention to malign the image and gain popularity at the cost of a senior actor”!

Incident happened on Sherni sets

Vijay had also said that it would’ve been sexual harassment only if there was a physical contact that involved unwelcoming and explicit sexual overtures or demand or request for sexual favours.

Moreover, Raaz also claimed that her allegation was baseless, as they were both at the shoot location on October 27, 2020. He further elaborated that the location was about 125 km from the hotel. So, the allegation of him keeping his hand on the assistant director’s shoulder, near the lift of the hotel gateway after he had returned from the morning walk was untrue.

INTERIM RELIEF TO VIJAY RAAZ

Raaz also claimed that the woman had withdrawn her complaint against him before the internal complaints’ committee of the production company. Now, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has granted him interim relief and directed that all proceedings in the criminal case against Raaz be stayed!
