The fun and fashionable Alaya F made a grand debut in Bollywood in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Tabu.
And of course, rumours about her dating life went rife when she was papped with late Bal Thackeray’s grandson Aaishvary Thackeray.
Aaishvary and Alaya F had been spotted at each other’s birthdays and were seen spending time together on several occasions. She was even snapped having lunch with Aaishvary and his mother Smita Thackeray.

However, Alaya had DISMISSED the rumours, saying Aaishvary was a ‘close family friend’.
She had told TOI – “He is a very good friend. I know it is a cliche thing to say, but we are very good family friends. Our moms know each other, my grandad knows his mom, we have known each other for a very long time. It’s just now that the media notices a photo of us together and assumes that something is going on. We have been doing acting classes for a very long time, and also go to dance classes together; if the paparazzi had clicked us earlier, they would have a lot more pictures (laughs). That’s why we are bound to click together; I find him to be quite funny.”
Now, her mother Pooja Bedi has reacted to these link-up reports while chatting with TOI –
“As far as personal life goes, there are always speculations. I’ve seen about seven news items about who they think Alaya is dating, and then there’s a question of who she actually wants to be with. Either way, irrespective of whatever it is, the point essentially is that in today’s day and age, it is not necessary for an actor to be projected a certain way. In my time, things were so different! You had to be boyfriend-free, a virgin, and unmarried. Today, every single human is entitled to have a personal life.”
She further added, “Talking about Alaya, she’s completely focused on where she’s going and who she is.”
