While the current covid-19 situation created havoc in India, the producers are rethinking their movie release strategies.
Amidst all these, Salman Khan’s Radhe: You Most Wanted Bhai released both in cinemas and on ZeePlex (pay per view).
Now, we hear that Zee Studios is in talks with two more movies to follow Radhe’s hybrid release.
As Bollywood Hungama reported, another Salman Khan’s movie- Antim: The Final Truth & Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan might release simultaneously in theatres and on digital platforms like ZeePlex.
According to their sources, “The industry has now realized that if a film stars a big name, then a simultaneous release in cinemas and on a platform like ZeePlex can be an interesting proposition. Hence, Zee’s top honchos wasted no time and have already approached around 4-5 highly awaited biggies. The makers are in talks with Zee and this shows how widely ZeePlex has got acceptance.”
“It is quite possible that makers of ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ’83’ are in talks. Both these films have been delayed by more than a year. Also, ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ reportedly will take the hybrid release route. Meanwhile, ‘Maidaan’ is a film of Zee Studios and it will be in contention. Apart from these, a couple of big-budgeted South films might also be interested,” the source revealed to the portal.
Directed by Badhaai Ho fame Amit Sharma, Maidaan is a biographical sports drama, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead.
Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Antim is supposedly the Hindi remake of a Marathi movie titled Mulshi Pattern. This Sanjay Manjrekar directorial also features Aayush Sharma.
