It’s been a while since we have watched Akshay Kumar on the big screens.
However, there have been a lot of speculations doing rounds about both Sooryavanshi & Bell Bottom releasing on Independence Day this year.
Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty & co-starring Katrina Kaif, was slated to hit theatres on April 30, 2021, but got delayed due to Covid-19 2nd wave. On the other hand, Bell Bottom, co-starring Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Lara Dutta, was initially scheduled to release in theatres on 28th May.
Now, to put an end to the speculations regarding both the Akshay Kumar starrer releasing in theatres on Independence Day, the actor issued a statement on Saturday and cleared the air around the release.
The statement reads, “I’m humbled at the excitement and eagerness of my fans regarding the release of Sooryavanshi and Bell Bottom, and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all their love. However, at this point, it is purely speculative to say that both films will release on Independence Day. The producers of both films are working out the release dates and will make announcements at the right time.”
Seems like, fans might have to wait for a little more to watch Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi & Bell Bottom.
Set in the ‘80s, Akshay reportedly plays the character of a RAW agent in Bell Bottom. The espionage thriller is apparently based on the plane hijacks that took India by storm in the early 1980s.
Sooryavanshi was initially slated to hit theatres in March 2020. However, owing to the pandemic, the action/cop drama was delayed for more than a year. Ranveer Sing & Ajay Devgn did cameos in this movie.
