Undoubtedly, Yash Raj Films is one of the biggest film production houses, not just in Bollywood but in India also.
Now, we hear YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra is planning to make a dramatic leap into the digital space.
According to the latest Peeping Moon report, YRF is apparently all set to start producing exclusive feature films and web series in both fiction & non-fiction space for various OTT platforms.
Reportedly, Aditya will form a separate division under his YRF banner, which will make various OTT contents.
“Aditya Chopra heads one of the biggest production houses in India and for him venturing into the OTT domain is not an easy decision. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered, from future content on the channel to acquisition to re-negotiating deals for content that have already been locked with other established OTT players,” a Bollywood Hungama source revealed.
According to their reports, YRF is said to be planning to launch its own OTT platform.
“Apart from launching their own OTT platform Aditya is looking at developing the short format and long format content for OTT. The film division will obviously still be there but along with that OTT content will also be developed as a whole business model,” their source added.
However, there is no official confirmation yet.
