Fans have been eagerly waiting for director Priyadarshan’s much-awaited sequel Hungama 2.
The movie stars Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Meezaan Jaffrey & Pranitha Subhash in pivotal roles.
It’s been already reported that the makers of this multi-starrer have opted for the direct-to-digital route for the release and are gearing up to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
Now, according to a Bollywood Hungama report, Hungama 2 has reportedly been sold to the OTT giant for the fortune of Rs 30 CRORES. Besides that, it is also said that the team has supposedly received a reasonable amount from the music and additional sources too.
“The comic caper is sold to Disney+ Hotstar for Rs. 30 crores; however, this does not include the satellite rights. While the exact figure for a TV premiere is not known yet, it is expected to be in the range of Rs. 6 to 8 crores, taking the total revenue to Rs. 36 crores,” a source revealed to the portal.
It is said that the overall revenue from all sources is expected to be around Rs. 45 crores mark for the co-producer Ratan Jain, which has reportedly helped them fetch a profit of at least Rs. 10 crores, as the estimated budget of Hungama 2 is Rs. 30 crores approx.
“The film is an ensemble of acclaimed actors, but none of them is a superstar and hence, Priyadarshan has been able to mount it on a big scale. The inside reports are fantastic with some calling it a laugh-a-thon,“ continued the source, adding “It’s a sure shot winner, a vintage Priyadarshan comedy wherein humour stems from the screenplay,” the source concluded.
