It was recently reported that TV and film actress Shagufta Ali was in dire need of financial help.
She’s known for Bollywood films like International Khiladi, Hero No 1 and Laila Majnu and TV shows like Sasural Simar Ka, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Bepannaah.
Though she’s a survivor of 3rd stage breast cancer, diabetes has wreaked havoc on her eyes and feet and piled onto her health issues. Lack of work and money has further added to her distress.
“I have sold my car, jewelry and have been traveling in auto rickshaws to go to the doctor. I have nothing left to sell now. I have taken a loan from the people which I have to repay. Other than that I have to pay house EMI’s, medical bills, and other things,” a tearful Shagufta had said.
Moved by her plight, Madhuri Dixit on the behalf of Dance Deewane 3 team presented her with a cheque of ₹5 lakhs!
Moreover, as per Bollywood Hungama report, even director Rohit Shetty stepped up to help the struggling actress battle the financial crunch with a ‘generous donation’ – though the exact sum has not been disclosed.
It was also reported that her colleagues from the industry like Sumeet Raghavan, Sushant Singh and Neena Gupta had also come to her aid. We hope Shagufta Ali recovers from this tough phase in her life soon.
