Popular TV actor Barun Sobti impressed everyone with Voot Select’s series ‘Asur: Welcome To Your Dark Side’.
Now, he is all set to star in another OTT project, which is said to be based on true events.
On Monday, streaming platform Zee5 announced its upcoming original film, titled ‘200’.
Directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, the movie also stars veteran actor Amol Palekar, Marathi film ‘Sairat’ fame Rinku Rajguru, Indraneil Sengupta, Sahil Khattar, Saloni Batra, and Upendra Limaye.
Based on true events, ‘200’ will apparently showcase the “oppression and injustice suffered by Dalit women”. The movie is produced by the film production arm of Saregama– Yoodlee Films.
As per a media report, Nimisha Pandey, Head, Hindi Originals- ZEE5 India, feels a “powerful” story like “200” needs to get the platform so that it reaches the world and “brings to light the harsh realities that still exist.”
“We are happy to collaborate with Saregama and Yoodlee Films and hope that this film reaches as many people as possible and leads to a necessary conversation,” she said in a statement.
