Ranveer Singh gave one of the best performances of his career in ‘Padmaavat’, wherein he played the role of ‘Alauddin Khilji’.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie also featured Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
Ranveer, as we know, is a method actor who goes out of his way to give his best shot to every character that he plays. But getting slapped 24 times on ‘Padmaavat’ sets? Well, seems like it wasn’t his plan exactly.
During a scene in the film, Ranveer’s character Alauddin Khilji was supposed to get slapped by Jalal-ud-din Khilji, played by senior actor Raza Murad.
Just to get the pitch-perfect shot, SLB took several retakes as he wasn’t completely satisfied with the way those shots turned out. And finally, after the 24th attempt, the director had okayed the take and got ‘the perfect shot’.
