Akshay Kumar‘s upcoming movie Raksha Bandha starring Bhumi Pednekar is said to have a theatrical release.
The makers have announced the movie’s release date as the government has announced the opening of theatres from 22 October.
The makers have locked August 11, 2022 for the release of Raksha Bandhan, which is also the Independence day weekend.
The film went on floors in June this year in Mumbai where they had created a set to look like Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. Currently, they are shooting in Delhi.

The movie is said to revolve around the brother-sister bond. Akshay Kumar had earlier said, “Raksha Bandhan is a special film for all of us, rarely are such pure and simple films made. Can’t wait to begin filming for this one!”
The film also stars Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth who play the role of Akshay Kumar’s sister in the movie.
