Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi will be making his Bollywood debut with ‘Bhavai’ opposite Aindrita Ray.
The movie, directed by Hardik Gajjar, was initially titled ‘Raavan Leela’ but the title was changed after backlash from the netizens.
The makers were also sent a legal notice which accused them of attacking the concept of Ram Leela and glorifying Ravana. To avoid religious controversy, the film is being called ‘Bhavai’ – which is a popular folk theatre form, especially in Gujarat.
Bhavai was supposed to arrive in theatres on 1st October but now the release date has changed to 22nd October 2021.
