Uh-oh! Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her businessman husband Raj Kundra have hit the headlines yet again for some troubling news.
We hear that the couple has allegedly landed themselves into legal trouble over a cheating case.
According to India Today, a Mumbai-based businessman Nitin Barai has lodged an FIR against Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra & a few others on Saturday (November 13) at Bandra police station. In the complaint, Nitin has allegedly claimed that they had reportedly duped him of Rs 1.51 CRORES.
As per a Free Press report, Nitin has alleged that in July 2014, Kaashif Khan, the director of SFL Fitness company, along with Shetty, Kundra, and others asked him to invest Rs 1.51 crore into the enterprise to earn a profit. However, things didn’t materialize even after he was assured that the SFL company will provide him a franchise and an open gym and spa, as per his FIR.
Nitin’s complaint further alleges that when he wanted his money back, he was allegedly threatened.
Based on Nitin Barai’s complaint, the FIR was registered under various Indian Penal Code Sections, including 420 (cheating), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention), as reported by India today.
An investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty has broken her silence regarding this ongoing matter. On Sunday (November 14), the actress took to her social media account and issued her statement against the same.
Dismissing such allegations against the couple, Shilpa stated that she is shocked that her name has been dragged into this mess.
