Ajay Devgn is donning the director’s hat for his next.
Initially titled ‘Mayday’, the film has now been renamed ‘Runway 34’. It also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
Runway 34 is based on a true story reportedly – of a Jet Airways Doha-Kochi flight that almost crashed because of poor visibility!
What Had Happened?
On August 18, 2015, flight ‘9W 555’ bearing 141 passengers and 8 crew members took off from Doha. It tried to land at its destination in Kochi but couldn’t due to poor visibility. They tried diverting it to Trivandrum but the visibility was bad there also.
Finally, a Mayday call was initiated. The plane landed at Trivandrum airport on INSUFFICIENT fuel reserve of only 250 kg, a precarious condition indeed – since the minimum fuel reserve for Boeing 737 aircraft is around 1500 kg!
Runway 34 Release Date:
In Theatres on Eid – April 29, 2022.
Runway 34 will now be clashing with Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2, co-starring Tara Sutaria, which is also releasing on the same date.
