Sara Ali Khan will next be seen in ‘Atrangi Re’ with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush.
The romance-drama is all set for an OTT premiere this Christmas – arriving on Disney + Hotstar on December 24, 2021.
Sara Ali Khan already has everyone grooving to her ‘Chaka Chak’ moves on Instagram reels and the trailer has left fans curious and excited.
However, there have been certain mixed reactions to the teaser as well – owing to the glaring age difference between Sara and her Atrangi Re co-stars, Akshay and Dhanush. Sara, who is currently 26 years, has a 28-YEAR age gap with the 54-year-old Akshay. While Dhanush (aged 38) is senior to her by 12-YEARS.
Akshay has shared screen space with Sara’s father Saif Ali Khan in movies like Tashan, Yeh Dillagi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and more. The Sooryavanshi actor has also co-starred with Sara’s stepmom Kareena Kapoor Khan in Tashan, Aitraaz and Kambakkht Ishq.
Addressing the age-difference and the feeling of working with her father’s contemporary, Sara told Quint –
“I feel that ultimately, films are the directors medium. You have to trust. I, as an actor, trust my director with everything, including with the casting. I believe if we’re talking about this film in particular-then Aanand ji has thought about this cast, and has cast them accordingly. And if a filmmaker had to do the reverse, he had enough conviction and if he had actors convinced in his conviction, then that would happen as well. As long as filmmakers envision it, and actors believe in that vision, I don’t think there is anything more to it than that.“
