5 Times Bollywood Celebs BROKE STEREOTYPES At Their Wedding! See LIST-

3. Dia Mirza

Earlier this year in February, actress Dia Mirza got married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony. Even though the wedding affair was eco-friendly and sustainable, what truly amazed us was the female priest. Yes, Dia’s wedding ceremony was conducted by an elderly female priest named Sheela Atta, which broke the traditional gender stereotype.

On the other hand, she had also chosen to forgo traditional rituals of Kanyadaan and Bidaai. For the unversed, Kanyadaan is a ritual that symbolizes the father ‘giving his daughter’ away to her husband, while Bidaai marks the departure of the bride from her father’s home to her husband’s.

4. Anushka Sharma

The Bidaai ceremony – the bride bids adieu to her family as she embarks on a new journey with her husband – is usually considered the most emotional and soul-stirring moment of the entire wedding. However, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma broke the stereotype at her fairytale-like wedding with Virat Kohli. During her Bidaai, she bid farewell with cheers and smiles, happily waving at her family while walking away hand-in-hand with her husband.

5. Neena Gupta

Actress Neena Gupta, as we all know, broke the societal norms and chose to give birth to Masaba Gupta out of wedlock. During that time, several people including popular filmmaker-actor Satish Kaushik had reportedly offered to marry her, but she “didn’t feel right about getting married just to avoid controversy”. She raised the child alone and at the age of 50, she finally found her true love and got married to Vivek Sharma.
