6 Most Romantic Proposals By Bollywood Celebrities To Kickstart Valentine’s Week!

With Valentine’s Day coming up, we’re super excited and are all set to cheer on budding and old couples who celebrate love.

Naturally, our Bollywood celebrities have romantic bones in them and these 6 proposals definitely won our hearts!

Bollywood celeb proposal stories

1. Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan

You just cannot start a romance list without first mentioning the love story between the King of Bollywood and his lady. Shah Rukh Khan, believe it or not, was turned down by Gauri twice before they could get married. SRK rushed all the way to Mumbai from Delhi, went around all beaches in town, and asked her to marry him when he finally found her at Juhu! However, she declined the proposal. But when Khan’s late mother had passed away in 1990, Gauri approached him on her own and told him they should get married. Now here we are, over 30 years later, with one of Bollywood’s hottest married couple.

2. Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna

We don’t know if this story is hilarious or romantic but it suits the couple perfectly. Akshay was sure he wanted to marry Twinkle but the actress was more focussed on her career. Twinkle had given her now-husband an ultimatum that if her film ‘Mela’ didn’t do well at the box office, she would marry him. And sure enough, the rest is history.

3. Nick Jonas-Priyanka Chopra Jonas

This Desi-Hollywood combination is one of our favourites. Did you know Nick had shut down an entire Tiffany & Co store in London just to choose the perfect ring for his beloved Priyanka? The singer/actor proposed Chopra when they were on her birthday holiday in Crete, Greece! The pair welcomed a baby in January via surrogacy and fans have been patiently waiting to see glimpses of the little one.
