Bappida’s famous song Jimmy Jimmy from Mithun Chakraborty’s film Disco Dancer was used in Adam Sandler’s film You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. Only the background music without the vocals were added in the film.

Welsh DJ and producer Jamie Jones and New York-based DJ duo The Martinez Brothers produced a collaborated track titled Bappi. In an interview Bappida had said, “It features a remix of my superhit song from Disco Dancer ‘Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy’. The British-Sri Lankan rapper M.I.A used the same song in her 2007 album Kala and, a year later, it was also there in the climax scene of Adam Sandler-film, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.”

Bappida was the only Indian music director whom late legend Michael Jackson had invited to attend his first-ever live show in Mumbai, in 1996.
