Huma Qureshi was last seen in the Zee5 series ‘Mithya’.
The actress has been roped in to play the titular role in Tarla Dalal biopic.
On Tuesday (April 19), Huma took to Instagram and announced her next movie – the biopic on noted cookbook writer and celeb chef Tarla Dalal titled – Tarla.
Directed by Piyush Gupta, the said movie is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari.
Sharing the first-look poster on Instagram, Huma captioned it, “#Tarla ke tadke se aata hai mann mein ek hi sawaal Kab milega mauka to experience unke swaad ka kamaal Miliye Tarla Dalal se aur jaaniye unki masaledaar kahaani Filming now!”
About Tarla Dalal:
Born in 1936, Tarla Dalal was an Indian food writer, chef, cookbook author, and host of cooking shows. She was the first Indian who have been honoured with Padmashree Award in the culinary skills category in 2007.
Dalal, known for hosting popular cookery TV shows like “The Tarla Dalal Show” and “Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal”, had penned more than 100 cookbooks and 25 magazines. Tarla Dalal had passed away on November 6, 2013, after suffering a heart attack.
Talking about the biopic, producer Ashwini Iyer Tiwari told the media, “Tarla’s story is a lot more than her being an iconic chef. It’s a story about a working mother who singlehandedly changed the face of vegetarian cooking in India and paved way for many such home cooks and start ups to aspire and achieve their dreams.”
