Drishyam 2 Movie Review

Vijay (Ajay) has graduated from being a mere cable operator to a theatre owner. He’s even going to produce a mystery thriller. But on the home front, things are still troubled – his daughter Anju (Ishita) is an epileptic and is prone to PTSD attacks due to her fear of being caught.

His wife Nandini (Shriya) is also constantly anxious and might be accidentally oversharing incriminating information with her neighbor, to take things off her mind.

The case gets reopened by Meera’s (Tabu) friend, IG Tarun Ahlawat (Akshaye). An unfortunate witness to that fateful night might tip the scales against the Salgaonkar family. Vijay even decides to make a confession. How will they get out of this mess now?

What Do We Think:

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

Like the 1st part, Drishyam 2 will also leave you amazed. However, this time it appears to be more of an ‘Ajay Devgn’ show rather than the whole family presenting a united front.

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

The youngest cast member Mrunal has almost a negligible role this time. Ishita’s part has some substance, she does a convincing enough job of being the PTSD survivor Anju. Maybe it is the way the character was presented, but Shriya Saran’s ever-startled Nandini comes across as annoying.

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

Devgn is in top form as always, knowing when to appear level-headed and when to present a vulnerable front. While we all appreciated Vijay being one step ahead always, this time the story requires a major suspension of disbelief.

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

Things are way too convenient and contrived with some very improbable odds that somehow end up working for him! The sheer insanity and audacity might really appeal to some though. It almost takes full 1st half to set up but the 2nd half is quite fast-paced and engaging.

Akshaye Khanna is another strong addition to the team, but his character gets the short end of the stick here. Since things fall into his lap instead of him having to strive for them.

Drishyam 2 Movie Review

Tabu nails it as the vengeful, grieving mother along with Rajat Kapoor as the empathetic husband. The climax is thoughtful and poignant. Overall, Drishyam 2 makes for an entertaining watch.
