As per reports, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh and Naseeruddin Shah have been roped in together for a film.
The film in question is A Suitable Boy director Mira Nair’s next – reportedly titled ‘Amri’.
The biographical drama is based on the life of Indian-Hungarian painter Amrita Sher-Gil. She was considered to be one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century and a pioneer in modern Indian art. The illustrious painter died tragically died at the mere age of 28.
Although the actress to play the titular role hasn’t been locked yet, Vicky, Jim and Naseeruddin Shah have been approached to play prominent roles in Amri. The film goes on floors in September 2023 and is aiming to release in mid-2024.
“Naseer Saab is mostly on board as he has worked in Nair’s first film, Monsoon Wedding, and is excited to collaborate with her again after 25 years. Jim Sarbh is also said to have okayed the film; however, Vicky is still contemplating the project. He is keen to work with Nair, and his dates are currently being worked out to accommodate Amri in his calendar,” a source told the portal.
