As per latest buzz, Vicky Kaushal & Rashmika Mandanna to reportedly team for a period drama.
According to Peeping Moon, Vicky is set to romance Rashmika in his upcoming movie titled – Chhava.
Reportedly, Vicky would essay the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Maratha empire’s founder and the great warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Pushpa 2 actress has been supposedly roped in to play Sambhaji Maharaj‘s wife, Yesubai Bhonsale, in this epic warrior drama.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the movie is said to be directed by Laxman Utekar.
“Although the film is primarily about Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery, ultimate sacrifice, and strategies for winning wars, it also features an emotional love story between a husband and wife. Sambhaji Raje and his wife jointly held the throne as the emperor. She used to handle all political decisions while he was away from the Maratha capital due to warfare. Rashmika was the maker’s first choice from the beginning and was locked following her look test. She will receive voice coaching for this movie to help her embody her historical persona, while Vicky will train for four months to become proficient in sword fighting, horseback riding, and archery.”

As per reports, Chhava is currently in the pre-production stage and a huge budget has been sanctioned for this magnum opus. The movie is expected to go on floors in September this year.
