1) Vikram
Vikram played the angry Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan. His character arc saw flashbacks to Aditha’s former love story, his murder of Veer Pandiyan and an angsty, intense, emotional showdown with Nandini in the climax.
Vikram’s fee for the PS-2 was 12 crores allegedly.
2) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai played a double role in PS-2 as the vicious yet enigmatic queen Nandini and the mute old lady Mandakini. The sequel explored in greater depth the origin story of Nandini, her bitter past with Aditha and her ultimate revenge against him.
As per reports, Aish took home a pay cheque of 10 crores for her part.
3) Jayam Ravi
Jayam Ravi is the titular Ponniyin Selvan aka Prince Arulmozhi Varman. Jayam keeps the political intrigue afloat as he thwarts assassination attempts by the Pandyan rebels.
He was allegedly paid to the tune of 8 crores for this movie.
4) Karthi
Karthi played the adventurous warrior prince Vanthiyathevan who is at the right place at the right time to fend off the attacks from the enemies conspiring against the Chola kingdom.
Karthi’s salary for PS-2 was 5 crores.
5) Trisha Krishnan
Trisha featured in the Ponniyin Selvan movies as the quick-witted, mesmerizingly beautiful Chola Princess Kundavai. She shares some brief, romantic moments with Karthi’s Vanthiyathevan that will leave you wanting you more.
Trisha’s salary for the PS-2 sequel was 2.5 crores reportedly.
6) Sobhita Dhulipala
Sobhita plays Jayam Ravi aka Ponniyin Selvan’s love interest – Vanathi. She reportedly charged 1 crore for her role in the Ponniyin Selvan franchise.
