Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania starrer Veere Di Wedding (2018) was a success at the box office.
And now, we hear that the much-awaited sequel to the all-girls ensemble comedy is finally in works.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor and directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Veere Di Wedding had performed beyond expectations at the box office.
If this Pinkvilla report is to be believed, the makers have apparently locked the idea and concept for Veere Di Wedding 2. Report suggests, the film is expected to go on floors next year.
“Veere Di Wedding is a very special project for the makers, and they have already set the ball rolling for the sequel. So Veere Di Wedding 2 is definitely being made, and the idea and concept has already been locked. However, the script is still being written, and the final draft should be ready in a few months. Once that is done, they will start looking at the casting and other logistics. The movie will roll next year.”

Back in 2020, during an interactive session with fans on Instagram, Rhea had reportedly confirmed the sequel. Talking about it, she had said –
“I think it’s going to happen actually. It might happen sooner than I thought it would happen. But things look good. I am excited.”
Meanwhile, Kareena and Rhea have reunited for The Crew – a comedy-drama that is set against the backdrop of the airline industry.
Directed by Rajesh Krishnan (Lootcase fame), the movie also stars Tabu and Kriti Sanon in the lead along with Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in important roles.
