After Aarya, Sushmita Sen is back to win hearts with her upcoming series Taali. The teaser was unveiled today.
Helmed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, the former Miss Universe plays the role of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant – first transgender to file a petition in the Supreme Court of India for the adoption rights of trans people – on screens.
In the teaser video, Shreegauri (played by Sushmita) is seen saying that she wants 3 things from life – Swabhimaan (Self-respect), Sammaan (Respect) and Swatantra (Freedom).
The teaser gives a sneak peek into the courageous and brave life of Shreegauri, her relentless struggle and ground-breaking fights against a system that is reluctant to recognise and accept the third gender.
Sushmita’s fierce look and powerful performance as trans activist Shreegauri in Taali has left the audience speechless.

Who Is Shreegauri Sawant?
Shreegauri Sawant is a Mumbai-based trans activist who is the director of Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust – an NGO that promotes safe sex and provides counselling to transgender people.
Back in 2008, she adopted a girl named Gayatri after her mother had passed away from AIDS.
